Sport
The school has recently introduced a sports development programme to help stimulate self-confidence and ensure that all children
have the opportunity to take part in individual sports. In order to implement this programme school has formed links with Morley
Rugby Football Club who allow access to their outside facilities for outdoor games. In addition school also uses their own school
hall and the sports facilities at Scatcherd Sports Centre when a larger indoor venue is required.
Our Head of P.E. is an excellent sportswoman, having gained Silver medals in watersports at International level.
Under her guidance we hope to continue our Sports Development Plans.
Swimming
All pupils have the opportunity to take advantage of swimming lessons at Scatcherd Sports Centre. The children receive expert instruction by fully qualified coaches and have the opportunity to gain certificates and awards as they develop their skills.
Football
The school has a football team, coached by a parent helper. The school has played several matches against other schools in the
Leeds/Bradford area, and this helps them to develop their skills as well as bringing them into contact with other groups.
Athletics
In the Summer term the children take part in the English Schools Athletic Association awards scheme. The school also holds a
traditional sports day each summer; all the children take part and represent their House.

Cricket
Cricket training takes place throughout the Summer term, and our players' abilities are rapidly improving.
Rounders
The school has enjoyed several matches against other local schools. This game allows a mixed squad of girls and boys, thus encouraging co-operation and good teamwork.
Other Sports
Other sports within the curriculum include Volleyball, Badminton, Hockey, Tag Rugby, Gymnastics and Dance.
